Since 2003, the Ralf Groesel Design Team (RGD™) has been developing technical product innovations and custom constructions upon request.

Head and chief designer of RGD™ is Ralf Groesel. He can boast of over fifteen years of experience in the field of flexible airfoils and custom textile constructions. When he was only seventeen years old, he developed the Bwing (bird’s wing), a paraglider with a 1:4 scale airfoil geometry that was truly unique and years ahead of its time. Since then, Ralf Groesel has begun an impressive career and can look back at over 100 successfully established products. In the year 2001, he and two colleagues founded the kite manufacturing company Flysurfer, based in Wiesbaden, Germany. With the collection of products developed by Ralf Groesel as its solid foundation, this company was able to establish itself on the market at an amazing pace.

Since 2003, RGD™ has been responsible for the entire product line of the sail manufacturer ISTEC AG, and made a lasting influence on the sailing market with the products Parasailor² and Parasail. Sailing legends such as Bobby Schenk and Jimmy Cornell rely on the advantages of the spurt-captivating capability of the integrated wing in the spinnaker, and dub the new concept as “the future standard in the downwind sector.”

With the entry into the North Kiteboarding Design Team in the year 2004, RGD™ had the opportunity to demonstrate its innovative ability in the field of softkites. Beyond that, RGD™ has been working with the highly professional North test team since 2007 to produce new product lines of tubekites. The demands on quality and creativity couldn’t be greater than with the market leader North. What a fantastic challenge!
